Option 1 — Delete it inside the app (instant)
- Open the Beitmate app.
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → Account.
- Scroll down to the Danger Zone.
- Tap “Delete my account”.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then tap “Delete forever”.
Your account and login are removed immediately and you are signed out. This cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you can’t access the app, email us from the address linked to your account and we’ll delete it for you within 30 days:
Please use the subject line “Account deletion request”.
What is deleted
- Your login (email address and password) and authentication.
- Your profile: name, display name and profile photo.
- Your personal data, uploaded photos, and private messages.
- Your push-notification token and device identifiers.
What is kept (and why)
If you shared a household with other members, expenses and payments you created are kept but anonymised — your name is replaced with “Deleted user.” This is required so the other members’ balances and shared history stay accurate. These records contain no personal data that identifies you.
If you were the only member of your household, the household and all of its shared data are deleted together with your account.
Retention period
Account and personal data are deleted from our live systems immediately (or within 30 days for email requests). Residual copies in encrypted backups are automatically purged within 30 days.
